If you have ever looked at a gas log set and thought “that looks fake,” you were probably not looking at a Real Fyre. Every log is hand-painted ceramic refractory, and the difference shows from across the room — which is exactly why we keep them burning on the floor.

Real Fyre is a deep line. These are the pieces most customers end up choosing between — and we will happily narrow it down for you in person.
Vented log sets
The realistic option and the one most people picture. Tall, lazy yellow flames over a heavy ember bed, burning with the damper open. You are buying the look — most of the heat goes up the chimney with the exhaust.
Vent-free log sets
No chimney required, and nearly all of the heat stays in the room. Useful in a basement, a den, or any house without a working flue. They have to be sized to the room volume, and local code has a say, so we go over both before you buy.
Log styles
Split oak and charred oak for a traditional, heavy look. White birch for a brighter, more contemporary room. Driftwood and other styles by order. Come see two sets burning side by side — the choice usually makes itself in about a minute.
Burners, valves & remotes
The part nobody shops for and everybody lives with. A manual key valve is simplest and cheapest. A millivolt safety pilot adds a flame sensor that shuts the gas off if the pilot dies, and opens the door to handheld remotes, wall switches and thermostats.

We do not stock a little of everything. We stock the lines we can stand behind for the twenty years the customer will own them, and Real Fyre has earned its place on the floor.
- Hand-painted, not sprayed. The bark, splits and charring are modeled and colored individually. Cheap sets are molded and spray-painted, and you can tell the difference standing in front of them.
- They hold up to being looked at. A fireplace is furniture you stare at for hours. Detail that survives close inspection is the whole point.
- The range is genuinely deep. Vented and vent-free, several log styles, and a burner and control option for nearly any budget or firebox.
- Parts stay available. Made by R.H. Peterson, a long-established American manufacturer — which matters when you need a burner or a pilot assembly years from now.
- We service what we sell. Annual tune-ups, pilot and valve work, and getting the log placement right — the single most common cause of sooting.

What makes Real Fyre different from a cheaper log set?
The logs are hand-painted ceramic refractory, so the bark texture, splits and charring are modeled and colored individually rather than molded and sprayed. That detail is what makes a set read as real wood instead of as an ornament. Stand in front of a cheap set and a good one and the difference is not subtle.
Vented or vent-free — which Real Fyre should I get?
Vented if you want the tallest, most convincing flame and you have a working chimney. Vent-free if you want the room genuinely warmer and you have no flue to work with. It is the one decision that really matters; everything else is preference. There is a fuller comparison on our gas logs page.
Can Real Fyre logs go in the fireplace I already have?
Usually, as long as the firebox is sound and gas can be run to it. The set has to be sized to the opening, so we need the width at the front, the width at the back, and the depth — masonry fireboxes taper, and the back width catches people out. A photo plus rough measurements is enough to get started over the phone.
Can I run them from a remote or a thermostat?
Yes, with the right valve. A millivolt safety pilot supports handheld remotes, wall switches and thermostats that will hold a room temperature for you. If you only want to light it by hand, a manual key valve costs less and is perfectly good.
Do you service Real Fyre sets you did not sell?
Yes. Bring us the model if you have it. Most of what we see is pilot and valve work or logs that were moved during cleaning and never put back where the manufacturer intended — which is exactly what causes black glass and a flame that stops looking right.
